ideation lab is a majority Indigenous owned and run business based in Townsville, North Queensland. We use start-up principles to design and deliver projects that we believe will help communities and businesses, and ultimately, make a difference in the world.

about our founders

Dr Joanne Kaczmarek

MBBS, DipHighEd(Hlth), BCom(Acc)

Joanne is a Torres Strait Islander from Badu, a Medical Doctor currenlty working at Townsville University Hospital, and a former Australian Diplomat with over 10 years of experience in the Australian Public Service.  Outside of the health sphere, Joanne specialises in Indigenous and business leadership, productivity, corporate management, workplace culture and engagement, systems and process design, program evaluation and auditing. Her medical interests include preventative medicine, longevity and mental health.

Ryan Wiggins

MBA, BA(HSer), Dip(IndigSt), MSW (in progress)

Ryan is an experienced senior manager who has dedicated over 20 years to the health and community service sectors in Australia. Ryan has expertise in leadership, design thinking and co-design, building organisational culture, improving productivity, community engagement, research and policy development, project planning and implementation, content development and digital marketing.
